The late Anthony DiFelice, a beloved 33-year-old from Gibbstown, New Jersey, tragically lost his life in a train accident on May 13, 2024. The community and his family are deeply mourning his sudden and untimely death.
Anthony was well-loved and is remembered fondly by those who knew him. Amanda Schultz expressed her sorrow on Facebook, saying, "Sleep easy Anthony Difelice shits crazy to even hear you didn’t deserve to go out like that such a good person with a huge heart deff will hold our memories close I know I got more but heres just some ransoms I found love you kid sleep easy." Dan Sim also shared his disbelief, commenting, "Shits crazy smh."
Kelly Ruggieri, a family friend, has organized a fundraiser to support Anthony’s grandmother, Elizabeth (Betty Tucker) Cameli, with the expenses of his cremation. Kelly shared, "It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of Anthony DiFelice, a beloved 33-year-old who tragically lost his life in a train accident on May 13, 2024. Anthony was a lifelong friend of my son Tommy and my nephew Timmy. They created numerous wonderful memories together during their childhood and throughout their lives. Anthony was loved by many, and his absence will be deeply missed."
The fundraiser, titled "Assist Betty in Anthony’s final farewell," has raised $300 so far, with contributions from Natale Ruggieri ($100) and Kelly Ruggieri ($200). The goal is to reach $4,000 to cover the costs of Anthony’s cremation, as Betty was unprepared for this unexpected tragedy and lacks the necessary funds.
Anthony is remembered as a beautiful soul who touched many lives. Alyssa Anne, another friend, commented, "I can’t stop thinking about it he didn’t deserve to go out like that. Like THAT tho ?!?! The thought of it is so disturbing and makes me sick." Amanda Schultz added, "I know I have a lot questions also he’s at peace now though no more suffering deff a beautiful human gone way too soon. Shits crazy to me like nobody helped was he calling for help did he fall did someone push him like what happen is all I keep…”
Anthony’s passing has left a significant void in the lives of those who loved him. As the community comes together to support Betty in this difficult time, they remember Anthony as a kind-hearted individual who will be dearly missed. Rest in peace, Anthony.
