Angela Pacheco, a beloved member of the Galesburg community, is facing the final days of her battle with stage 4 lung cancer. Diagnosed on March 9th, Angela’s condition rapidly worsened, leading to an emergency heart surgery on April 6th due to fluid accumulation around her heart. Despite initial plans for chemotherapy and immunotherapy, her medical team determined that further treatment would be detrimental. By April 17th, Angela was placed under hospice care, where she remains today, with only an estimated 7-10 days left.
Angela’s daughter, Secilia Reyes, has organized a fundraiser to cover the extensive medical expenses, cremation, and end-of-life services. The campaign, "Help Ease Angela’s End of Life Journey," aims to raise $10,000. As of today, $725 has been raised from four donations, reflecting the urgent need for more support.
Angela is described by her daughter as the embodiment of love and selflessness. Her generous spirit has touched many lives, always offering help without hesitation. This fundraiser seeks to honor her legacy and ensure her final days are peaceful and free from financial worry. The Pacheco family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.
