The late Amy Sue Huheey, from Manassas, Virginia, has passed away, leaving her family in need of financial assistance to cover final expenses and lingering medical bills. Amy had been battling illness for a long time but was known for her ability to uplift others despite her own struggles.
Amy’s husband, Robert Huheey, shared the heartbreaking news of her passing on June 21 at 8:40 am. Robert has since organized a GoFundMe campaign titled "The end of the story" to help with the costs associated with Amy’s cremation and other outstanding expenses. He expressed his gratitude for the support they received last year when Amy was frequently hospitalized, highlighting the community’s prayers and concern.
Helen Zurita, a friend, reflected on Amy’s kindness and the impact she had on those around her. "Amy Sue Mechalek Huheey has recently passed. Her family is in need of financial help not only to help with final expenses but to help with medical bills left behind. Amy had been sick for a very long time but always found ways to uplift others including me. Please help if you can," Helen wrote on Facebook.
Robert Huheey also expressed his appreciation to those who have donated, mentioning that even the simplest cremation costs over $1300. He noted the financial strain caused by losing more than a month’s work to care for Amy. As of June 29, 2024, the fundraiser has raised $820 out of the $3,500 goal with contributions from 17 donors, including significant donations from individuals like James Burke II and Amanda Myers.
The community’s support continues to be crucial for the Huheey family during this difficult time.
