The late Allison Courterelle, a beloved resident of Calgary, tragically passed away on Friday, June 21. Her sudden death has left her family and friends in deep mourning. Allison was a devoted mother to her two young children, Keirra, aged 7, and James, aged 5. Despite battling severe mental health issues, Allison was known for her kind and loving nature, always striving to be there for those in need.
Sharon Evans, Allison’s mother, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to support her son Edward and grandchildren during this difficult time. The fundraiser, created yesterday, has raised $65 of its $5,000 goal through three donations. Michelle Williams, one of the donors, contributed $30 and expressed her condolences on Facebook, saying, "A friend has lost someone very close to her, if you are able to donate a few dollars I know they would be grateful, even a share would help. May she rest in peace."
Allison’s passing has not only left a significant emotional void but also a financial burden on her family. Sharon Evans, in her heartfelt message on the fundraising page, shared, "Hi, my name is Sharon and I am raising funds for my son Edward and grandchildren who tragically lost their mother Friday June 21. Allison was an amazing woman who loved her children Keirra 7 and James 5 so fiercely. She tried so hard to be the best person she could and would be there for anyone who needed it. She was so dearly loved by us all and the world has lost such a gentle soul. Although she was fighting some horrible mental health problems, she had a true heart of gold."
The community has shown support through donations and messages of sympathy. Eric Pollard donated $20, and an anonymous donor contributed $15. Sharon’s appeal underscores the unexpected challenges the family faces, urging others to share their favorite memories of Allison to create a tribute book for her children.
Allison Courterelle’s passing is a poignant reminder of the struggles many face with mental health and the importance of community support in times of profound loss.
