The late Allen Taylor was from Ashwoods, Virginia. The community and his family are struggling to prepare for his burial and support his two daughters, making this news devastating. Allen’s friend, Terry Russell, is fundraising for his funeral and the family’s needs, describing their struggle due to the sudden loss.
For Allen’s burial and to support his family, Terry Russell created a GoFundMe campaign. The goal is to raise $25,000. As of now, $125 has been raised from two donations, with Rebecca Boone contributing $25 and Ryan Corcoran $100.
Allen Taylor passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning at the age of 34. He was a devoted husband to Kristi, his wife of nearly 17 years, and a loving father to their daughters, Skylar and Aubrey. Allen was also a cherished member of a large circle of family and friends.
Ashley Harold shared her grief on Facebook, stating, "Allen, you were the best husband to my sister, a fantastic dad to y’all’s girls, an awesome uncle to my boys, and like a brother to me. I am so grateful that you were part of the family for almost 20 years and we will miss you for so many more! We will always love and we will never stop talking about you, especially to the girls! Love you, Allen!"
A memorial service to honor Allen’s life will be held at Rockville School Park on July 6th at 6 pm. Allen cherished watching, coaching, and supporting his girls playing softball, so it is fitting to celebrate his memory at the ball field. Attendees are invited to bring chairs, a side dish, and a cooler of drinks to share since it will be hot.
The community has started to rally around the fundraiser, but there is still a long way to go. This effort reflects a friend’s desire to fulfill Allen’s wishes for his family and a call for collective support. The fundraiser highlights the financial burdens faced by mourning families and the importance of community solidarity in times of crisis.
