The late Alexandru Fusneica, a 27-year-old shuttering carpenter from Dublin, Ireland, tragically passed away recently. His best friend, Valeriu Man, shared the heart-wrenching news on Facebook, expressing profound sorrow over the loss. Alexandru was known for his warm heart and readiness to help anyone in need, a testament to his kindness and generosity.
Alexandru’s life was marked by significant challenges and immense strength. A year ago, he was brutally attacked, resulting in a month-long coma with slim chances of recovery. Against all odds, Alexandru made a miraculous recovery and returned to work and training within six months, displaying remarkable determination and resilience. His journey from such a harrowing incident to becoming stronger and more disciplined was truly inspiring.
Tragically, Alexandru’s life was cut short while he was engaged in an activity he loved—training in the gym. He suffered a cardiac arrest during a kickboxing session. Despite fighting valiantly for almost two hours, his heart ultimately gave out. His sudden passing has left his family and friends heartbroken and devastated.
To honor Alexandru’s memory and support his grieving family, a fundraiser has been organized by Fabian Musat to repatriate his body back to Romania. The pain of losing him twice in one year is unimaginable. As of today, €190 has been raised out of the €6,500 goal, with contributions from friends and well-wishers such as Kevin Pavalache, Reka Lakatos, Nina Daniela Pop, Eugen Cristea, and an anonymous donor.
Valeriu Man’s plea on Facebook highlights the need for collective support: "In Alexandru’s memory and to support his grieving family, we are raising funds to repatriate his body back to Romania. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the burden on his family during this difficult time. Please help us honor Alexandru’s memory by giving him the dignified farewell he deserves. Your support means the world to us."
The fundraiser underscores the need for community solidarity in times of personal tragedy and the enduring impact of Alexandru’s life and legacy.
