The late Alexandria Burtnick from Waldorf, Maryland, passed away on June 19th after a difficult battle with Stage 4 cancer. Her passing has deeply affected her family and friends, who are now coming together to support each other during this challenging time.
Alexandria Burtnick was a loving mother to Debbie Spencer and David Burtnick, and a grandmother to eight adoring grandchildren. Known for her kindness, elegance, and joyful spirit, she had been a central figure in her family’s lives. After surviving a brain aneurysm in 2004, Alexandria spent her remaining funds on assisted living care, which her family frequently visited, enjoying holidays, game nights, and other cherished moments.
A few days after Memorial Day in 2024, Alexandria began experiencing severe pain and was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, a shock to everyone who knew her. The family rallied around her, providing support until her passing on June 19th.
In the wake of her death, the family is facing significant financial challenges to cover the funeral and burial expenses. Annie Raney, a close family friend, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help alleviate these costs. As of now, $250 has been raised out of the $10,000 goal, with contributions from Laura Miller ($50), Bonnie VanMeter ($100), and Rodney Raney ($100).
Annie Raney shared her thoughts on Facebook, expressing the close bond she shared with Debbie Spencer and the deep affection she had for Alexandria Burtnick. She urged those who knew Debbie or David to contribute to the fundraiser and offer their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Alexandria’s death has left a profound void in the lives of her family and friends. The GoFundMe campaign organized by Annie Raney reflects the community’s effort to support the Burtnick and Spencer families in honoring Alexandria’s final wishes and ensuring she receives a dignified farewell.
