The late Alex Pimentel was from Dallas, Texas. The community and his family are struggling to prepare his burial and support his widow, so this news is devastating. Alex’s daughter-in-law, Jenifer Ramirez, is fundraising for his funeral and his widow’s needs. She has described their struggle due to unanticipated expenses.
For his burial and his widow’s financial needs, Jenifer Ramirez created a GoFundMe campaign. Raising $20,000 is her goal. "This GoFundMe will be used for funeral expenses, time off work, and whatever else she needs during this time. All funds will go directly to her and no one else," Jenifer explains on the fundraising page.
"On Friday afternoon we lost the man in our life. Alex Pimentel was not only a wonderful father-in-law, he was a good dad, a loving Papa, a great brother, a devoted husband, and a hardworking man. We all knew that if we called Alex, he would drop everything to be there for us," wrote Joyful Like Maggie on Facebook.
After his daughter Maggie died, Alex was devastated. He never "got over" her death, grieving her as though she was his own child. This pain drove him to his faith, as described by Joyful Like Maggie: "In his devastation and hurt he immediately rushed to the arms of our Blessed Mother and Jesus and never looked back."
The family has been overwhelmed with love and support since Alex’s passing. "Within an hour of hearing the news that Alex had died at home, most of us were here. We spent time holding his hand, laying on his chest, grieving over him, and, most of all, we expressed our deepest love for him. While it was a truly awful moment, it was also filled with such beauty," Joyful Like Maggie shared.
Alex’s passing has left a profound impact on his family and community. "It’s not often that a man lives for only 56 years and is surrounded by the immense love of his family, including all of his grandchildren," Joyful Like Maggie added. This sentiment was echoed by friends and family members, such as Peg Hunsberger, who commented, "I am so very sorry for this sad loss. I am praying for all of you. I pray you will be comforted by the fact that Alex and dear Maggie are together now."
Despite the pain and sorrow, the family is leaning on their faith and community support to get through this difficult time. The GoFundMe campaign is a crucial part of this effort, reflecting a collective desire to support Alex’s widow in her time of need.
