It is with heavy hearts that the Orosi High School (OHS) community mourns the loss of Alejandro Araujo, an 11th-grade student who tragically passed away in an unexpected lake drowning accident. Alejandro, only 16 years old, was just beginning to live his life. In this time of immense grief, the community is coming together to support his family.
Community Support and Fundraising Efforts
Yaimar DeLeón, a school counselor at OHS, shared a heartfelt post urging the community to come together to ease the family’s burden during this difficult time. "As a community who is there to support all in times of need, I’d like to ask that we come together to ease the family during this difficult time," DeLeón expressed. Financial contributions can be made through Venmo to @Yaimar-DeLeon and Claudia-Leon-13, and in-person donations can be dropped off at Orosi High School.
A GoFundMe campaign titled "Stand with Alejandro’s Family in Their Loss" has been organized by John Soria. The fundraiser, created today, aims to raise $10,000 to support Alejandro’s family. So far, $95 has been raised from four donations. Juan Rodriguez, who is raising funds for his son’s best friend, wrote on the campaign page, "Alejandro Araujo was only 16 years of age and only beginning to live his life. God knows why he does things, but we would like to help his family in this hard time. Anything you can give, we would be grateful. Thank you. God bless you and your families."
