It is with a heavy heart that we share that Aaron Smith, 57, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2024. Aaron, a former college athlete, was an amazing son, twin brother, and brother to many siblings, father, uncle, and beloved significant other. Known for his uncanny sense of humor and selflessness, Aaron always gave generously of his time, talent, and treasure. These last few years, Aaron suffered greatly from several serious medical conditions.
His family and friends are now rallying to lay him to rest with dignity. Sheila Brown has organized a GoFundMe campaign to support Aaron’s family during this difficult time. The goal is to raise $13,000, and as of now, $6,220 has been raised from seven donations. The funds will help provide for the modest funeral they hope to hold on Friday, July 5th.
Valerie Fackler, one of the donors, shared $50 forty minutes ago. Theo Webb contributed $500 two hours ago, Cassie Nesheim gave $50 two hours ago, and an anonymous donor added $20 four hours ago. Susan Slater also donated $500 six hours ago.
The family and friends of Aaron Smith are reaching out for support, asking people to keep them in their prayers, donate to the cause, and share the GoFundMe link on social media. This effort will allow Aaron’s family, his sons, and his friends to say a dignified and loving farewell to him.
As Sheila Brown, the fundraiser organizer, expressed, "With this touch of grace, we can say a dignified and loving farewell to Aaron. Until the time when we will meet again—in a better place. Bless you."
