Young Sur, Palisades Park, NJ — Young Sur passed away on Saturday, December 7th, following a brave battle after suffering a heart attack and stroke on November 22nd. Despite undergoing open-heart surgery, doctors determined that there was no more they could do. Sur’s family made the painful decision to remove life support, allowing him to pass peacefully in his sleep at the age of 41.
Young was a devoted husband to his wife, AhYoung, and a loving father to their young daughter, Ryanne (Lua), who will turn six at the end of December. His absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family and loved ones.
Born in Korea, Young immigrated to the United States in seventh grade. His creative spirit flourished throughout his life, particularly through his passion for photography, balloon artistry, and eyewear design. Over the past seven years, he served as a Brand Representative for Kio Yamato, working with independent optical boutiques across the Northeast. He was admired for his dedication and enthusiasm, and his dream was to eventually start his own eyewear line.
A fundraiser has been set up by his brother-in-law, Paul Chun, to assist the family with medical and funeral expenses as well as ongoing living costs during this difficult time. The community has shown tremendous support, offering condolences and donations to help ease the burden on the Sur family.
Young’s family and friends take comfort in the hope that he is now at peace, held in a love greater than anything he could have imagined.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sur family during this time of unimaginable loss.
