William Bruzzo of Plainfield, IL, passed away on Monday, September 30th, after battling numerous medical complications. His sister-in-law, Jennifer Bruzzo, who had been his caregiver through a decade of serious health challenges, found him peacefully at rest at home. Over the years, William faced multiple difficulties, including prolonged hospital stays, diabetic-related surgeries, a three-leg amputation, and heart surgery that he was unable to receive.
Since losing his job following his leg amputation in June 2023, William struggled financially. His disability application was denied just two months ago, leaving him without funds as his 401k had been depleted to cover his medical needs.
In an effort to give William a peaceful farewell, Jennifer Bruzzo has organized a fundraiser to support his memorial services. Despite a recent wave of losses in their family, including three other loved ones, the Bruzzo family remains hopeful for the assistance of their community. William’s children are expected to travel from Canada to attend the memorial, and any help from the public would be greatly appreciated.
Several kind donors have already extended their support. Contributors such as Noah Vincent Ross, Ventura Pena, Angel Martinez, Gilbert Myers, and John Fronek have all made generous donations to help the family reach their goal. The fundraiser continues as the family seeks to provide William the proper and peaceful rest he deserves.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to William Bruzzo’s family during this incredibly difficult time. May his memory be honored, and may his loved ones find peace and comfort.
