Wayne Thomas, Ft. Stockton, TX—Wayne Thomas passed away recently, leaving behind a grieving family and community. He had faced numerous health challenges since the age of 40, undergoing several surgeries and medical procedures throughout the years. At the age of 60, Wayne was hospitalized in his hometown of Ft. Stockton before being transferred to El Paso for further care. Despite medical efforts, including 24-hour dialysis, his condition continued to decline.
As Wayne’s suffering grew unbearable, the decision was made to transition to hospice care. The focus is now on providing comfort and allowing nature to take its course. This has placed a heavy burden on Wayne’s sister, his primary caregiver and best friend, as well as his great aunt. They are now faced with the challenging task of bringing Wayne back home to Ft. Stockton for his final rest.
A fundraiser has been created by Ashley Chambers, Wayne’s niece, to help with the expenses of returning Wayne to his home and laying him to rest. The goal is to raise $5,000 to cover the costs. Those wishing to contribute are encouraged to donate or share the fundraiser.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Wayne’s family during this deeply difficult time.
