Wanda Stroud, Cave City, AR— Wanda Stroud passed away on December 13, 2024, after battling complications from COVID and pneumonia. She was most recently receiving rehabilitation at Cave City Nursing Home following a burn injury and had been planning to return home soon.
For over 30 years, Wanda’s son, Luke Stroud, was her primary caregiver, devoting his life to ensuring her well-being. Wanda, a breast cancer survivor, had undergone a double mastectomy in the early ’90s, which marked the beginning of Luke’s caregiving journey. Despite the challenges, Luke has always been there for her, earning her affection as the "best son" in her eyes.
Now, as Luke faces an uncertain future, he is struggling both emotionally and financially. Wanda had no insurance or savings, and Luke, who has dedicated his life to caring for her, has no funds of his own. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up by Lacy Mitchell to assist with Wanda’s final expenses, including direct cremation, mortgage payments, and other essential costs.
The community is rallying around Luke, offering donations and prayers in this difficult time. Wanda’s passing has left a deep void, and Luke will undoubtedly miss the companionship and care he gave to her for so many years.
We extend our deepest condolences to Luke Stroud and his family. May Wanda rest in peace, and may Luke find strength and support in the days ahead.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
