Wakan Moves Camp, Mission, SD— Wakan Moves Camp, a cherished husband, father, and community leader, tragically passed away this summer, leaving behind his wife Brianna and their four young sons. His passing has deeply affected the community, which has come together to support his family during this difficult time.
Wakan Moves Camp was a beacon of inspiration and service. Eleven years ago, while still in high school, he was selected to represent the USA alongside two other peers from Crazy Horse School at the Global "Design For Change" conference in India. His involvement left a lasting impression on the global conference attendees, his school, and his tribe. In recognition of his contributions, the Design for Change global conference will honor his life and legacy at their upcoming event in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
A fundraiser has been launched by Dan and Tara Seibel to help Brianna and Wakan’s four sons attend this significant event. The funds will be used to support their travel to Dubai, where they will participate in the celebration of Wakan’s enduring legacy. The hope is that this journey will serve as a powerful reminder of their father’s spirit and impact on the world.
Generous donations have already started to pour in, with Zachary Wiley contributing $3,000, Polly Breit donating $250, and others like Amanda Dahlin and Rebecca Powell also stepping in to support. The community continues to rally behind the Moves Camp family, ensuring that Wakan’s legacy of love and inspiration lives on.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Moves Camp family. Our thoughts and prayers are with Brianna and the boys during this time of grief. May Wakan’s memory continue to inspire all who knew him.
