Virginia "Jenny" Amend, Orange Park, FL— Virginia "Jenny" Amend passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024, at 7:26 pm, after a long and courageous battle with chronic kidney and heart disease. For the past decade, she had been receiving dialysis treatment three times a week, and her health had been in steady decline due to multiple medical conditions. Sadly, she was unable to secure life or burial insurance, nor was she able to continue working due to her health challenges.
Jenny was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Her kindness, generosity, and love for others were known by all who had the privilege of meeting her. She was an avid baker, enjoyed playing board and card games, and treasured the time spent with her family and friends.
In light of her passing, her daughter Michelle Leslie has organized a fundraiser to help cover funeral expenses, family travel, and to give Jenny the dignified send-off she deserved. As of now, $375 has been raised through seven donations, with more contributions expected.
The community has shown its support through heartfelt donations, with contributions from Cassie Aucoin, Regina Burkhalter, Kailey Kerr, Stephanie Frank, and Torri Elie, among others.
We extend our deepest condolences to Jenny’s family during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate this profound loss.
May Virginia "Jenny" Amend rest in peace, and may her family find strength and comfort in the memories she leaves behind.
