Vernon M. Wilkinson, Bennington, VT— Vernon M. Wilkinson, 67, passed away on December 19, 2024, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY, after a long and meaningful life. Vernon, a resident of Middle Pownal Road, was born on April 10, 1957, in Arlington, VT, to the late Leonard and Meegan Crawford Wilkinson.
Vernon was known for his hard work and dedication, having spent many years working with Daley’s Concrete, Petrecca, and Unistress, as well as serving as a union labor representative in Massachusetts. A passionate NASCAR fan, he also supported the New England Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys. His love for the outdoors was evident through his enjoyment of fishing, hunting, and camping, and he always cherished time spent with his family and dogs.
Vernon’s family, including his wife Ellen Kelly and children Vernon Crandall, Dominic Kelly, Cora Delucia, Jessica McGuckin, and Lori Crandall, along with his many siblings and grandchildren, are left to mourn his passing. He was predeceased by his brother Ernest Wilkinson and sister April Mayer.
In honor of Vernon’s life, a celebration will be held on January 18, 2024, from 2-4 pm at the Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home in Bennington, VT.
A fundraiser has been established by Dominic Kelly to help support Ellen and the children following Vernon’s passing, with a goal of $5,000.
