Ulises Gaspar Velazquez, Los Angeles, CA— Ulises Gaspar Velazquez passed away recently, leaving his family and friends heartbroken. He was a beloved son, brother, cousin, and friend, known for his strength, resilience, and unwavering courage.
Ulises fought a long and difficult battle against Grade 3 Astrocytoma, a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer. His journey was filled with numerous challenges, from misdiagnoses to medical negligence, but Ulises remained determined to overcome every obstacle. His first seizure occurred in August 2019, but it took months of persistence before he was connected with the right medical team. A biopsy procedure led to severe complications, including nerve damage that affected his mobility. Despite this setback, Ulises never gave up.
In late 2020, Ulises began a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, and by 2022, he was told that his cancer had gone into remission. Ulises remained optimistic, continuing to pursue physical therapy and spending time with his loved ones. However, in mid-2023, the cancer returned, and despite trying new treatments, Ulises’ condition worsened. In October 2024, his doctors informed him and his family that there were no more treatment options available. He returned home to be surrounded by his family and continued to show his courage until the end.
His passing has left a significant void in the lives of those who knew him, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched. A fundraiser has been set up by his family to help cover funeral expenses and support his loved ones during this difficult time.
We extend our deepest condolences to Ulises’ family and friends during this heartbreaking time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you honor his memory.
