Tyrone "Ty" Raymond Kneller Jr., South Dakota — The community is mourning the loss of Tyrone "Ty" Raymond Kneller Jr., who passed away on July 4, 2024, at the age of 61. Ty was a beloved father, friend, and colleague, known for his kindness, generosity, and zest for life.
Ty was born on February 6, 1963, to Tyrone Raymond Kneller Sr. and Carol Lynn Kneller in South Dakota. He moved to California during his childhood, where he graduated from Riverbank High School in 1981. Ty went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Sacramento State University. For the past 32 years, he dedicated his career to PG&E, rising to the position of Senior Manager of Distribution Standards and Work Methods. His colleagues knew him as a committed professional who poured his heart and soul into his work.
Ty’s love for life extended beyond his professional achievements. He was known for hosting gatherings, welcoming everyone with a shot of tequila or his signature "Tyrone Special," a twist on the classic Paloma. An avid cornhole player, Ty never turned down a game and was always eager to try new things. He looked forward to retiring within the next year and fulfilling his dream of living in Mexico, a place he loved during his frequent visits to his timeshare.
He is survived by his many lifelong friends, his beloved daughters Danielle and Lea, and his soon-to-arrive granddaughter, Sage Miranda. His warmth, generosity, and adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
A fundraiser organized by his daughter, Danielle Kneller, has been launched to help cover the costs of his funeral and support her sister, Lea, during this difficult time. So far, $400 has been raised out of the $40,000 goal, with contributions from generous donors like Zackery Kozlowski, Candace Briskey, and Karina Castillo.
The community has expressed their condolences and support through touching Facebook posts. Danielle Miranda shared, "We are going to miss our dad very, very much. This past week has been hard and we needed space to figure out his last wishes. If anyone wants to help with the costs of his funeral please visit our GoFundMe page as any help we can get is more than appreciated and we will forever be grateful."
