Franklin, NC—The community is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Tomas Hernandez, who tragically lost his life alongside his brother Delfino Hernandez in a devastating accident that occurred in the Franklin, NC area last Thursday. The brothers were on their way home to Hayesville, NC, after a long day of work when their vehicle was struck by a trailer in a multi-vehicle accident.
The sudden loss of Tomas and Delfino has left their family and friends in mourning, as they struggle to cope with the unexpected tragedy. To help the Hernandez family during this difficult time, Jose Renteria has organized a fundraiser with the goal of raising $12,000 to repatriate the brothers to their home country of Mexico. As of now, $145 has been raised from four generous donations, with contributions from Kara Howard, Robyn Coleman, Martha Altamirano, and Cierra Johnson.
The family is also seeking additional support through local fundraising efforts at Taqueria Los Atlantes, Super Mercado Oscar, and La Michoacan Oyj in Young Harris. Despite the challenges, the community remains hopeful and united in their efforts to support the Hernandez family.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Hernandez family during this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them, and we hope they find strength and comfort in the support of their community.
