Timothy William Means, Lynn, MA — The community is mourning the loss of Timothy William Means, who passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2024. He was 45 years old. Tim, as he was affectionately known, was a beloved son, father, and friend, remembered for his adventurous spirit, passion for helping others, and deep interest in holistic and metaphysical practices.
Born on August 4, 1978, in Canton, Ohio, Tim was the son of Ella Fales and Floyd Means. He grew up exploring different parts of the country, including Texas, Hawaii, and Maryland, due to his mother’s military career. He later lived in Ohio, Florida, and Massachusetts, making lasting friendships wherever he went.
Tim’s interests were diverse, ranging from nature exploration and family history to ancient mysteries and non-traditional spirituality. He became a holistic practitioner and clergy with the Universal Life Church, using his skills to advocate for the homeless community and improve the quality of housing facilities.
He is survived by his son, Blake Ferris, and his daughter, Kyia Means. Tim was also cherished as a "bonus dad" by Amethyst Troy and her children, Jadalyn Godfrey and Luka Troy. His memory will be cherished by many siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of traditional public services, Tim’s children have requested that people celebrate his life in their own way on his birthday, August 4th. A private Celebration of Life will be held for close family and friends. Contributions to help cover final expenses can be made through a fundraiser organized by his mother, Ella Fales, which has so far raised $20 of its $4,500 goal.
The community has been encouraged to consider volunteering or donating to local homeless facilities or planting a tree in Tim’s memory.
