Tetiana Kasianova, Cloverdale, CA—Tetiana Kasianova passed away on November 23, 2024, after a brave battle with kidney cancer. She was a devoted wife, mother, and medical professional who had faced tremendous challenges over the last few years.
Originally from Ukraine, Tetiana and her husband Vadym, both pediatric oncologists-hematologists, relocated to Cloverdale in March 2024, seeking refuge from the ongoing war. Together, they had three children: their 17-year-old son Andrii and 10-year-old twin daughters Viktoriia and Anastasiia.
Her illness began shortly after the war broke out, and despite undergoing several surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy, the cancer eventually spread. As the resources available to her dwindled and the dangerous conditions in Ukraine escalated, the family made the difficult decision to leave their home country for safety in the United States.
Since arriving in Cloverdale, the family has received heartfelt support from their community, which has been instrumental in helping them start anew. Unfortunately, Tetiana’s health declined rapidly, and she passed away surrounded by her family.
Now, her husband Vadym is left to raise their children alone. A fundraiser has been organized to help with living expenses, transportation costs for their son Andrii to help with the school run, and the funeral arrangements. Financial assistance is also needed to transport Tetiana’s ashes back to Ukraine for a proper burial.
Our hearts go out to Vadym and his children as they navigate this difficult time.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Tetiana Kasianova. Our thoughts and prayers are with Vadym and his children as they cope with this unimaginable loss.
