Terry Argent, Street, Somerset—The community of Street, Somerset is coming together to honor the memory of Terry Argent, a cherished figure in the local football scene. Terry, known for his unwavering support for his grandson Leo and the Wessex Wildcats FC, has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love for the game and those who played it.

In memory of Terry, a fundraiser has been initiated by Lewis Thomson, with support from Nathan Argent, to place a memorial bench at Walton playing fields. This bench will serve as a lasting tribute to Terry, who was a familiar face at every match, rain or shine, always encouraging the young players with his enthusiasm and love for football.

The fundraiser, titled "Terry Argent’s Memorial Bench," aims to raise £400. So far, £230 has been raised through the generosity of seven donors. The donations include contributions from Tessa Dobbins (£20), Jake Johnson (£50), Craig Foster (£50), Susan Argent (£10), and Kerrie Carter (£30).

The planned half marathon, organized by Lewis Thomson and Nathan Argent, will start from Brooks Road, where Terry lived with his wife Sue, and will conclude at Walton village hall. This route holds special significance as it represents the places where Terry spent much of his time, especially enjoying his grandson’s football matches.

Terry’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but the community’s effort to establish a memorial bench will ensure that his memory lives on in a place he loved.
