Tara Ruiz, Stockton, CA — The community is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Tara Ruiz. She was living with her younger brother, Gabriel, in Stockton, where they were each other’s main support. Tara’s life was marked by the loss of their mother in 2007, their maternal grandfather in 2011, and their maternal grandmother in 2019, with whom they had lived.
Tara was discovered by her brother Gabriel on July 16th. Gabriel is now facing significant challenges as he copes with the loss of his sister. To support him during this difficult time, a fundraiser has been organized by their aunt, Kris Gamayo. The funds will help cover house, car, and other essential expenses, as well as potential relocation costs if Gabriel decides to move to San Francisco to live with Kris.
The fundraiser has a goal of $1,000, and so far, $450 has been raised through the generous donations of five contributors. Notable donations include $100 each from Jane Chandler, Christianne Kernes, C Mezzera, and Jen Leland, and $50 from Natalie Grunsky.
The outpouring of support from Tara’s friends, coworkers, and family has been a source of comfort for Gabriel. Messages of condolence and shared memories are helping the family cope with their grief.
Tara’s memorial service will be held at Cano Funeral Home, located at 2164 E Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Stockton, CA 95205. The date is tentatively set for Friday, August 2nd, with confirmation to follow.
