Steve Rusnak, a beloved figure in Green Bay, WI, has passed away, leaving his family and community in mourning. Steve, known for his vibrant personality and deep love for his family and friends, died unexpectedly on August 6, 2024, in what has been described as a tragic accident. He passed while working on his riding lawn mower, an activity he enjoyed.
Shelbi Routheaux, Steve’s daughter, shared on social media about the time they had spent together before his sudden passing. Steve had been preparing for a new chapter in his life, hopeful about undergoing a heart procedure in October that could have significantly improved his quality of life. Shelbi expressed how much joy and nervous excitement her father felt about the future during their last days together.
A fundraiser organized by Shelbi is currently active to support Steve’s Celebration of Life, cremation, and other related expenses. As of today, $165 has been raised out of a $10,000 goal, with donations from several kind individuals, including Gabby Christian, Carolyn Daniels, Alex Zajechowski, Mary McCorison, and Shane Kronberger.
Sadly, in the days following Steve’s death, someone broke into his bar, Steve’s Corner Bar & Bad Dawg, stealing irreplaceable items, which has left the family feeling even more devastated. Despite the overwhelming circumstances, Shelbi is pushing forward, hoping to give her father the memorial he deserves. The Celebration of Life is scheduled for September 28th at the Park Falls Legion.
On Facebook, Shelbi Routheaux expressed her gratitude, saying, “Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.”
We extend our deepest sympathies to the Rusnak family during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them, and we hope Steve’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
