Steve Charles—The sudden and unexpected passing of Steve Charles has left his family and the Langley horse community in deep shock and sadness. Steve, known for his dedication to capturing beautiful moments and memories for the community, passed away recently, leaving behind a grieving family, including his younger sister Susan Caldbeck.
In response to this heartbreaking loss, a fundraiser has been organized by Jinelle Girard on behalf of Susan. The horse community, friends, and loved ones are rallying together to provide support for a celebration of life event to honor Steve’s memory. The event, which will take place on Monday, September 23, at Otter Trail Winery, aims to give friends and family a chance to remember Steve in a meaningful way.
The fundraiser has set a goal of $3,500 CAD to cover the costs of the event, as well as help with Steve’s remaining bills. As of today, $875 CAD has been raised through the generosity of nine donors, including significant contributions from Ashleigh Taylor ($250) and Kimberley St. Pierre ($100).
Organizer Jinelle Girard expressed the importance of community support during this difficult time, calling on friends and the broader horse community to help alleviate the financial burden on Susan as she navigates this difficult time. The love and care Steve brought to those around him will be remembered, and the horse community hopes to give back in a way that honors his legacy.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Susan Caldbeck and the entire family of Steve Charles. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of profound loss.
