Soutchay was a refugee from Laos who immigrated to Michigan in 1981. He grew up in Port Huron before moving to Milford, where he resided until his passing. He had a dedicated career in masonry before working at Kroger, where he took pride in his work and enjoyed interacting with customers.
He is survived by his three children: Kayla, Brandon, and April; three grandchildren; and four siblings. His family remembers him for his infectious joy and the fullness with which he lived his life.
A fundraiser organized by Jonathon Sphabmixay has been launched to help cover funeral expenses. So far, $100 has been raised out of the $7,500 goal, with contributions from generous donors like an anonymous supporter.
