Born on February 2, 1963, in the Azores, Portugal, Silvino moved to California in the 1970s and was deeply proud of his Portuguese heritage.
Silvino was known for his big heart and willingness to help others. He worked tirelessly in the fields and orchards, a job he loved. His passion for farm work and his dedication to assisting at every Festa he could attend made him a beloved figure in the community. Silvino also enjoyed playing soccer, a sport he played for many years.
He is survived by his two daughters, six sisters, one brother, and five grandchildren, all of whom are left devastated by his sudden loss. The family did not receive notification from the coroner until three weeks later, on July 28th, adding to their heartbreak.
Silvino’s family faces significant financial challenges as he did not have insurance or funds set aside for funeral expenses. To honor his memory and give him a deserving farewell, his daughter Jessica Mumui has organized a GoFundMe campaign.
The fundraiser, titled "Support a Beautiful Service and Farewell for Silvino Silva," aims to raise $9,400 to cover funeral and memorial service costs, floral arrangements, and other necessary items. So far, $250 has been raised through the generous contributions of John Larioza and Ron, Kerstin, Allison, and Jordan Silva.
