Sherilee Anne Retchford, affectionately known as "Fatty," has sadly passed away on 22 September 2024 at Cairns Hospital. Sherilee was a cherished sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. Her loss leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew her and loved her dearly.
Sherilee was known for her strength and her kind, generous heart. She dedicated her life to her family and the people she cared about, and her passing has left her family and friends struggling to cope with the emotional and financial weight of her final farewell. As per her wishes, Sherilee wanted to be laid to rest in Mount Isa, close to her other loved ones.
To help cover the funeral expenses and the cost of returning Sherilee to Mount Isa, a fundraiser has been organized by Wendy Kerr. The funds raised will go toward giving Sherilee the dignified send-off she deserves. Family and friends have already begun contributing, with generous donations coming from Chrisene Retchford, Roz Kerr, Casey Hucks, Tency Brennan, and Ann Pedersen. The family deeply appreciates any support offered during this challenging time, whether through donations or kind thoughts and prayers.
Sherilee’s family is overwhelmed with the love and support shown by the community, and they find comfort in knowing that she will be remembered with the respect and affection she deserves.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Sherilee’s family as they navigate this difficult journey of grief. May Sherilee rest in peace, and may her family find solace in the love she shared during her lifetime.
