Sheena Everett Sharp, Laurel, MS—The community is mourning the loss of Sheena Everett Sharp, who passed away on September 27, 2024, at the age of 45. Sheena was born on September 21, 1979, to Joann and the late Howard Everett. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and nurse, known for her fun personality, fast-talking storytelling, and deep love for her family.
Sheena graduated from West Jones High School and later earned a nursing degree from Jones College. Throughout her career, she was committed to helping others, particularly in her work at Ellisville State School, where she served people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She also took pride in her travel nursing assignments, which allowed her to explore the country and form new friendships.
Her family and friends are devastated by her sudden passing. In a Facebook post, Kaighan Sharp wrote, “With the unexpected passing of my mother, Sheena Everett Sharp, we were not prepared for her loss in any way. We are asking for prayers and if anyone can help in easing the burden on my family covering the cost of her burial.”
A GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up by Victoria Everett to help with Sheena’s burial costs, and the family is seeking donations to cover the expenses. Sheena is survived by her mother, Joann Everett, her three children—Kaighan Sharp (Davion Moore), Jackson Sharp (Caitlin Welch), and Landon Sharp—and her four grandchildren, Kailyiah Moore, Zaidyn Moore, Korton Moore, and Baylor Sharp.
Her visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, MS, followed by a burial at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Bro. Mickey Kelley.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Sheena’s family during this difficult time. We hope for peace and comfort for her loved ones as they navigate this profound loss.
