Shawn A. Coffey, St. Louis, MO— Shawn A. Coffey passed away on November 16, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and teacher who touched the lives of many throughout his remarkable journey.
Shawn dedicated 38 years to the mortgage banking industry before retiring to follow his passion for teaching. He became an elementary school teacher at Mullanphy School, where he was well-loved by both students and faculty. His devotion to his family was immeasurable, and he was affectionately known as "Bobo" to his grandchildren, Charlotte and Austin.
A die-hard sports fan, avid reader, and an active member of Christ Church Cathedral in Saint Louis, Shawn was admired for his vibrant personality and generosity. His memory will live on through his family, who are now organizing a fundraiser to cover the costs of his funeral service at Christ Church Cathedral on December 7, 2024, and related memorial expenses.
The family is deeply appreciative of the support from the community during this difficult time, and any contributions, large or small, are welcomed. The funds will help honor Shawn’s life and also assist with the significant medical bills incurred during his final days.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Shawn’s family, especially his beloved husband Tim O’Bryen, during this time of loss.
