Shannon Royce Beaman, Fayetteville, NC— Shannon "Bull" Beaman passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024, following a recent illness. He was 52 years old and is remembered for his unwavering dedication to local high school sports and his infectious personality.
For over two decades, Shannon supported the athletic programs at Douglas Byrd, Seventy-First, and Grays Creek schools, particularly in football, basketball, and baseball. His commitment to the teams, coaches, and young athletes extended beyond mere attendance at games; he became a beloved fixture at sporting events across the state, offering encouragement and motivation to those around him.
A kind-hearted man who never met a stranger, Shannon was known for his warmth and generosity. He touched the lives of many, from his co-workers at Food Lion to the countless people he befriended in the local sports community. Shannon’s ability to brighten any room with a smile and a laugh made him a cherished friend to many.
Shannon is survived by his brothers Greg Beaman and Tony Chavonne, along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Royce Beaman and Doris Tyson Beaman, and his brother, Tim Beaman.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 10 AM to 12 PM at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville, followed by a funeral service at noon. Burial will take place at Lafayette Memorial Park.
The family has requested that donations be made to the Gray’s Creek High School Athletic Department in his honor.
