Shannon was born on December 8th, 1984, to Shelli J. Gray and Vincent Antelli. Though she never had the opportunity to meet her biological father, her adoptive father, Raymond E. Gray Jr., played a significant role in her life, adopting her at the age of six. Shannon spent her early years in Connecticut, where she attended Waquonic Elementary and later graduated from Griswold High School in 2002.
Shannon’s journey took her through many challenges, including the foreclosure crisis in 2006, which displaced her family. Despite the hardships, she remained resilient, eventually moving to St. Croix, where she embraced the Rastafarian lifestyle and became an integral part of the local community. Shannon was known for her work in various restaurants and bars on the island, where her infectious personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Her sister, Alysia Gray, has created a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs of Shannon’s cremation and to support their mother, Shelli, during this difficult time. The fundraiser has received $20 out of its $10,000 goal, with Jessica Smith being the first to donate.
In a heartfelt message on Facebook, Laurel Collins expressed her sorrow for the loss of Shannon and shared her support for the grieving family. She described Shannon as a woman who lived life to the fullest, inspiring others to embrace their true selves with confidence and fearlessness.
