Sergio Olcot Ajbal, Chesapeake, VA Community Mourns Tragic Loss

Sergio Olcot Ajbal, Chesapeake, VA—Sergio Olcot Ajbal recently passed away, leaving the community and his family in deep sorrow. The sudden and tragic event took place on the evening of September 21st, when Sergio and his brother Santos, along with a friend, were caught by a powerful wave while enjoying a day at the beach. Despite swimming at knee level, they were soon swept away by the current.

After hours of searching, Santos was found and rushed to the hospital, where he was placed on life support. Unfortunately, on September 25th, he was taken off the ventilator after all efforts to save him were exhausted. Sergio and their friend, Sergio Xenico, were recovered days later, confirming the devastating loss for the family and the community.

Guilmer Olcot Ajbal, the brother of Sergio and Santos, has started a fundraiser titled “Honoring the Lives of Santos & Sergio Olcot Ajbal” to help cover the unexpected funeral expenses. The family is deeply grateful for the support they have received so far, including donations from Dinora Hayenga and Maria Ramirez, who have contributed to the cause.

This heartbreaking tragedy has left a void in the lives of everyone who knew Sergio and Santos. The community is coming together to provide support and comfort during this incredibly difficult time.
