Sean Chavious—Sean Chavious passed away recently, leaving the Bellport community in deep mourning. Sean was a beloved father, husband, son, brother, friend, teacher, and football coach, profoundly impacting many lives.
Alex Carrion, who regarded Sean as a father figure, expressed his grief in a heartfelt Facebook post: "These past 24 hours have been really hard. I can’t believe that you’re gone. My heart hurts knowing that you’ve passed away. You will always have a special place in my memories and in my heart. You stepped up to be a father figure in my life when you didn’t have to. For a while, you were just Sean, who became a buddy, a friend, and finally my Stepdad. I will always be grateful for everything you’ve done for me and with me throughout the years. You’ve been in my life since Senior Year of High School, about 10 years!!!! Having you as part of my life was a gift. I’ll never forget our final conversation. This goes out to my Friend. My Buddy. My Pal. My StepDad. My ‘other’ Dad. Sean Chavious… love you, man. I miss you. May you Rest In Eternal Peace."
The community has shown immense support and sympathy through touching Facebook posts. Kristiann Freedner shared her condolences with Alex, saying, "I’m so sorry for your loss, Alex!" Mary Kirincich Gardner echoed these sentiments, stating, "So sorry for your loss Alex! Very heartfelt message you wrote. My sincere condolences to all of you."
In addition to the emotional support, a fundraiser has been set up by Michelle Moodt to support Sean’s son, Decker Chavious. The fundraiser aims to raise $10,000, with $900 already contributed by generous donors, including Patrick Manning, who donated $250, and Martino Sottile, who gave $100. The funds will be used to secure Decker’s future, helping with education or other needs he may have as he grows up.
Sean’s legacy as a dedicated father and coach will be cherished by his family, friends, and the entire Bellport community. His memory will live on through the love and support he gave to everyone around him.
We are deeply saddened to learn of Sean Chavious’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
