Scott L. Hermes, a cherished member of the Oshkosh community, passed away on August 8, 2024, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. Born on August 21, 1970, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, Scott was 53 years old at the time of his passing. He spent his entire life in the Fox Valley, graduating from Menasha High School in 1989.
Scott married Melissa Hermes on September 5, 2015, and the couple enjoyed traveling, visiting casinos, and spending time together. They supported each other through various health challenges, demonstrating their deep commitment to one another.
Scott was known for his love of Wisconsin sports, often spending time with family and friends watching games. He particularly enjoyed watching wrestling and the Super Bowl with his son, Cory. His sense of humor and fondness for inside jokes with his niece, Anna, were well known among his loved ones. Scott also found joy in playing poker with a regular group of friends, who provided him with much-needed support during his illness.
Despite his diagnosis in 2020, Scott maintained a positive outlook and fought bravely against his illness. His courage and devotion to his family left a lasting impact on those who knew him. Scott’s legacy will continue to live on through the love and memories shared by his family and friends.
A celebration of Scott’s life will take place on Saturday, August 17, from 1 to 3 pm at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes in Oshkosh. In honor of Scott’s passion for Wisconsin sports, attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite team apparel.
A fundraiser organized by Kristina Mosley has been set up to help cover Scott’s funeral expenses and medical bills. So far, $50 of the $7,000 goal has been raised, thanks to a generous donation from Austin Gruetzmacher.
