Sara Bellamy Hicks, Murray, KY—The community of Murray is mourning the loss of Sara Bellamy Hicks, who passed away peacefully at her home on August 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Sara was 42 years old and had bravely battled breast cancer for over two years.
Born on December 11, 1981, in Alexandria, Kentucky, Sara was the daughter of Don and Marti Bellamy. She was a devoted wife to Brad Hicks, whom she met while attending Morehead State University. The couple married on October 27, 2007, and built a loving family together, raising their four children—Braxton (13), Beckett (11), Cora (7), and Marley (5).
After completing her Nursing degree at Northern Kentucky University, Sara dedicated her career to helping others as a home health nurse at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Her passion for entrepreneurship led her to establish multiple small businesses, including The Charming Child, known for its handmade hairbows, and Seeds of Hope Flowers, a flower seed store.
Sara’s life was marked by her love for her family and her zest for life. She was known for planning unique family trips, exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations, and capturing countless moments through her love of photography. Her photos serve as cherished memories for her family and friends.
Despite her illness, Sara found peace and joy in simple things, from tending to her garden to spending time with her children. Her positive outlook and faith inspired everyone around her, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew her.
A memorial fund has been set up to support the future educational expenses of the Hicks children. Donations can be made through the GoFundMe page organized by Allison Caudill, with all contributions going to the Murray Bank to be managed for the family’s benefit.
