Santos Figueroa, a long-time resident of North Las Vegas, NV, has sadly passed away after a difficult battle with cancer and Alzheimer’s. Originally from Puerto Rico, Santos was a proud New Yorker who had built a life filled with hard work, family, and community.
Santos’s son, Xavier Figueroa, shared a heartfelt message in a fundraiser dedicated to honoring his father’s final wishes. The fundraiser was organized to help cover the cost of a headstone and burial for Santos, who had expressed a deep desire to be laid to rest alongside his wife, who also passed away many years ago from cancer.
Throughout his life, Santos Figueroa was known as a dedicated family man and an ambitious businessman, with a passion for running bodegas and supermarkets. He loved simple pleasures like drinking coffee, watching boxing matches, and playing dominoes with friends. These memories bring comfort to his family and friends during this difficult time.
Xavier Figueroa has set a fundraising goal of $2,300 to help cover the remaining burial expenses. So far, $725 has been raised through the kindness of eight donors, including contributions from Maria Hernandez, Michael Newbold, and Ivette Martinez-Hill. Xavier expressed deep gratitude to all who have contributed and shared their condolences.
As the North Las Vegas community mourns Santos Figueroa’s passing, we send our thoughts and prayers to the Figueroa family. May they find comfort and peace in the cherished memories they hold of him.
