Rufus Kairu, Deer Park—It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rufus Kairu. Rufus tragically passed away on Monday morning after collapsing in Deer Park. Despite the best efforts of a good Samaritan who rushed him to Sunshine Hospital, he unfortunately did not survive.
Originally from Gatanga in Murang’a, Rufus had been living in Australia since 2014. His sudden and unexpected passing has left the community in mourning, as they come together to support his family during this difficult time.
A fundraiser has been organized by Martin Mureithi, seeking to raise AUD 40,000 to cover the costs of repatriating Rufus’s body back to Kenya for burial. So far, AUD 5 has been raised from a single donation. The family is appealing for further support to help ease the financial burden and assist with funeral arrangements.
Rufus’s passing has left a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew him. The community is encouraged to offer their prayers, moral support, and financial contributions to assist the family during this tragic time.
