Ruben Frias, Jackson, WY— Ruben Frias passed away recently, leaving the community in deep sorrow. Born in Mexico City, Ruben moved to Jackson 39 years ago at the age of 20. Over the years, he taught himself English, became a U.S. citizen, and was a pillar in the Latin community, known for his intelligence, sense of humor, and immense heart.
Ruben’s battle with diabetes led to severe complications, including the loss of his feet due to blood circulation issues. Despite his struggles, he remained a source of strength and inspiration. On Sunday, July 28th, Ruben suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and was rushed to the hospital, later transferred to Ermic hospital in Idaho Falls. Unfortunately, the neurologist deemed the stroke fatal, and on August 1st, Ruben was taken off life support.
His daughter, Elsa Frias, has organized a fundraiser to honor her father’s memory and assist with the funeral expenses. As of now, $490 has been raised out of the $10,000 goal, thanks to the generosity of donors including Víctor García, Juan Hernandez, and Perla Machcua. The Frias family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this heartbreaking time.
Ruben will be laid to rest in Jackson, Wyoming. The community remembers him for his contributions and the joy he brought to those around him.
We are profoundly saddened by the loss of Ruben Frias. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult period.
