Robert Eugene Ragsdale, a cherished veteran from Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on August 27, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of service and love. Born on September 23, 1944, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Robert spent his early years in California before serving his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, Robert moved to Kansas City, where he further pursued his passion for faith and service, attending Bible college and becoming an ordained minister.
Robert’s life was marked by both achievements and challenges. He had a strong background in cabinetmaking and carpentry, having earned his associate degree from Trade Technical College. Despite facing health issues that led to his disability, Robert continued to inspire those around him with his resilience and dedication.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Doris, and his daughter Ginger, among other family members. He is survived by his sister, Beverly Aguirre, and many nephews and nieces who will miss him dearly. Beverly has initiated a GoFundMe campaign titled "Honor Veteran Robert Ragsdale: Support His Final Journey" to cover the expenses related to Robert’s funeral, medical bills, and other outstanding obligations. The fundraiser aims to raise $20,000 to support these needs.
A service with full military honors will be held on September 23, 2024, at the Western Montana National Veterans Cemetery in Missoula, Montana, where Robert’s remains will be laid to rest in the niche Wall. The community is invited to remember Robert by sharing memories, stories, and photos on the memorial website.
We extend our deepest condolences to Beverly Aguirre and the rest of Robert’s family during this time of loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, and may Robert Eugene Ragsdale rest in peace, surrounded by the love of his family and the honor of his service.
