Robert Craig West, Courtland, MS— Robert Craig West passed away unexpectedly on Saturday night, leaving behind a grieving family and community. Craig, who was 53, was deeply loved by those around him, especially by his wife, Angela Patton West, and their daughter, Makala West Lewis. He had been a long-time resident of Courtland, Mississippi, where he lived with his family, including his mother-in-law, Wynette Patton.
Craig was a 1989 graduate of PHS, where he formed lifelong friendships with Jason Healy and Patrick Moore. Tragically, his dear friend Patrick Moore had passed away in 2022. Craig would have turned 54 next month, a milestone he will no longer reach.
His passing has left a deep void in the lives of his loved ones, including his nieces and nephews, who lovingly called him “Papoo.” While Craig was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Ray West, and other close family members, his legacy continues, especially through his decision to be an organ and tissue donor.
The family is currently facing financial difficulty, as they did not have burial insurance to cover the costs of the memorial services. In response, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up by Lisa Clark to help with the expenses. As of now, the family has raised $50 of their goal. The community’s support has been a comforting reminder of how much Craig was cherished.
We extend our deepest condolences to Craig’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate through their grief.
