Buffalo, MN—Rita Marlene Bloom, a beloved member of the Buffalo community, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 24, 2024, at the age of 69. Her loss has left a profound impact on her family, friends, and all who were touched by her kindness and dedication. Known for her roles as a nurse, cafe worker, and paraprofessional, Rita’s life was filled with joy and meaningful connections, bringing warmth to countless lives.
Rita was preceded in passing by her husband Richard Bloom, her mother Ellen Weeks, her father Frank Czanstkowski, her sister Linda Sawatzke, and two nephews, SSGT Rory Gavic and Raul Cervantes. She is survived by her daughters, Shawnna Estrella (Matthew) and Dori Estrella-Sands (Peter), and her granddaughters, Avery Doubek-Estrella and Lula Sands, along with many loving siblings, step-siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who held a special place in her heart.
To honor her life and legacy, a memorial service will be held at Peterson’s Chapel in Buffalo on November 2 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a luncheon. A memorial fund has been organized through CaringBridge and GoFundMe by her daughter, Shawnna Estrella, to assist with Celebration of Life expenses, allowing the community to support Rita’s family during this time.
