Rita Lopez, Blackfoot, ID—Rita Lopez passed away following an unexpected fall that led to a cardiac arrest on July 16. Her sudden passing has left her family and community deeply saddened.
Rita was the mother of seven children: Ricardo, Marcos, Sandra, Francisco, Pedro, Brenda, and Jorge Santillan. She was in the process of obtaining her U.S. citizenship with the hope of reuniting with her children in Mexico, whom she hadn’t seen in over 20 years. Sadly, she passed before fulfilling this dream.
Her final wish was to be laid to rest in Mexico, close to her children and family. To honor this, her family has come together to raise funds for her funeral and transportation expenses. A fundraiser has been organized by Michelle Gonzalez Nieto to help cover the costs of bringing Rita back to Mexico so she can rest in peace near her loved ones.
The community is being asked to support this effort, with any contribution being greatly appreciated. Currently, the fundraiser has a goal of $11,000, but no donations have been made yet.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Rita Lopez. We send our prayers and love to them during this difficult time. May Rita rest in peace, and may her family find comfort in their memories of her.
