Johnson City, NY—The community is deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of Richard Garris, a beloved friend, father, and skilled handyman known for his generosity and culinary talents. Richard was known for his modesty, easygoing nature, and his dedication to helping others, whether they were family, friends, or anyone in need.
A talented handyman, Richard took pride in his ability to build or fix anything he set his mind to, and he was equally admired for his remarkable culinary skills. His ribs, taco soup, and bananas foster are still fondly remembered by those who had the pleasure of tasting his creations. Richard’s passing leaves a void in the lives of many who knew him.
To assist with the final expenses and support Richard’s son Llewyn and Llewyn’s mother, Kristin, a fundraiser has been organized by Christine Zelesnikar. As of today, $960 has been raised towards the $5,000 goal, thanks to the generosity of 23 donors. The community has come together to offer support, with recent donations from Tony Mollo and others, and a top donation of $100 from Anthony Pass.
A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on Sunday, August 25th, from 1 PM to 6 PM at Oasis, located at 153 Harry L Drive in Johnson City. The event will provide an opportunity for family and friends to gather, share memories, and honor the life of a man who brought so much joy to those around him.
We extend our deepest condolences to Richard Garris’s family and friends during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate through this period of grief and loss.
