Rev Faith Kapaiko, Atlanta, GA — The community is deeply mourning the unexpected passing of Rev Faith Kapaiko, who died recently at the age of 60. Faith, originally from Kenya, had long dreamt of reuniting with her daughters, Hellen and Judy, in America. Tragically, just days after her arrival in Atlanta on July 6th, she passed away suddenly, leaving her family and community heartbroken.
Faith’s arrival in America was meant to be a joyous occasion, marking the first time in many years that she would embrace her daughters and meet her two grandchildren. Her daughter Judy, residing in Texas, was planning to travel to Georgia to finally reunite with her mother after seven long years, but heartbreakingly, she did not make it in time to say her goodbyes.
During her brief stay, Faith experienced immense joy, meeting her grandchildren for the first time and spending precious moments with them. Her face lit up with love and pride as she held them close, moments that, although brief, were filled with boundless love, warmth, and joy.
A fundraiser has been organized by Everlyne Nkadori to help repatriate Faith’s body back to Kenya, where she can be laid to rest with the dignity and respect she deserves. So far, $325 has been raised out of the $15,000 goal, with contributions from generous donors such as Mbayani Tayai and two anonymous contributors.
The community has expressed their condolences and support through touching Facebook posts. Eve Nashipae, with Yohana Lerindo, shared her thoughts, urging friends to support Faith’s family during this difficult time. Mike Surumpen, Naikodoi Silonkoi, Edward Nkomeya, and Juma Juma are among many who have offered their prayers and support.
Faith’s memory will live on through the love she shared and the joy she brought to everyone around her. Her family and friends will cherish the moments they had with her, finding comfort in the legacy she left behind.
