Regina Joann Patton, Indianapolis, IN — Regina Joann Patton, affectionately known as Gina, passed away on December 1, 2024, after a tragic asthma attack. She was a loving mother to three young daughters and a cherished member of the community, known for her bright smile, infectious laughter, and unique sense of style.
Regina, who had suffered from chronic asthma since childhood, was picking up her daughters from Brookside Elementary when the attack occurred. Despite efforts from the school staff to assist her, she could not recover and passed away, leaving behind her daughters Rae’Lynn, Jaelaa, and Royalti.
Regina was a dedicated mother who loved her children deeply, especially her eldest daughter, Rae’Lynn, who shared her battle with asthma. Gina was known for her skill as a hair braider, using it as her primary source of income, and for her love of fashion. She had a gift for making others feel special, always taking care of her appearance and those around her.
Regina’s passing has left her family devastated. She was in the process of applying for disability benefits due to her ongoing health struggles but did not have life insurance. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up by Latishua Smith to help with funeral expenses and support for Regina’s daughters during this difficult time, particularly as they face the holiday season.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Patton family during this heartbreaking loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with Regina’s family and her precious girls.
