Ramon Barragan Ramirez, San Jose, CA—With deep sadness, the Barragan Garcia family announces the unexpected passing of Ramon Barragan Ramirez. Ramon, aged 53, passed away on Friday, September 27th, 2024, leaving an unimaginable void in the hearts of his loved ones.
Ramon was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather. Known for his selfless nature, he always extended a helping hand to those around him. Tragically, his life was cut short after he suffered multiple brain hemorrhages, following a long battle with misdiagnosed medical conditions. Initially diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2009, Ramon endured years of treatment and complications. He had suffered his first stroke in 2020, affecting his speech and mobility, followed by a second stroke in 2022 that caused paralysis on his right side. It wasn’t until 2023 that doctors realized he had been misdiagnosed and was actually suffering from CADASIL, a rare genetic condition. This led to a third stroke on Wednesday, September 25th, 2024, resulting in a massive brain hemorrhage. Despite being placed on life support, Ramon went into cardiac arrest and passed two days later.
The Barragan Garcia family is now seeking support from the community to help with funeral expenses and to lay Ramon to rest. His daughter, Kenia Barragan, has organized a fundraiser to aid in these efforts. The family is also accepting donations through Zelle as they cope with this heart-wrenching loss.
Ramon’s passing leaves behind not only a grieving family but also a legacy of kindness and dedication that will be remembered by all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Barragan Garcia family during this difficult time.
