Ramiro Azul Rodriguez, Elgin, IL—The community mourns the loss of Ramiro Azul Rodriguez, who passed away on September 13th, 2024. Known for his kind heart and generosity, Ramiro was deeply loved by his family and friends. His passing leaves a void that is difficult to fill.
Ramiro battled Acute Myeloid Leukemia, first diagnosed in 2013. He went into remission, but the illness returned. Despite undergoing a bone marrow transplant, he developed Graft vs Host disease, which led to the loss of most of his muscle mass. He fought bravely through these health challenges, but as the disease progressed, it weakened him further. After years of struggle, Ramiro’s health deteriorated, and he peacefully passed away.
Jessica Rodriguez, Ramiro’s daughter, has organized a fundraiser to cover the expenses of his memorial and funeral. So far, $1,630 has been raised out of a $10,000 goal, with donations from family and friends, including Vicente Rodriguez, who contributed $1,000, and Leslie Rodriguez, who gave $500. The community has shown their support, as seen through heartfelt messages left on social media.
Leslie Rodriguez shared, “Rest in peace tio,” while GenMarie Gonzalez and Sonia Bedolla expressed their condolences.
Ramiro’s legacy as a loving father and a man who cared deeply for others and animals will live on in the memories of those who knew him.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this difficult time. May Ramiro Azul Rodriguez rest in peace.
