Qandil Quvvatov, Brooklyn, NY— Qandil Quvvatov has passed away after battling stage 4 lung cancer. He was a devoted father and husband, beloved by his family and community. His unexpected passing has left his wife and two children heartbroken as they mourn the loss of a cherished family member.
Qandil, originally from Tajikistan, had only recently arrived in the United States five months ago with his family, seeking a new life. Tragically, after his arrival, he was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer, which ultimately led to his passing. His last wish was to be buried in his homeland of Tajikistan, and his family is now working to fulfill this request.
To help transport Qandil’s body back to Tajikistan and cover funeral expenses, a fundraiser has been set up by his family. As of today, the fundraiser has raised $2,150, thanks to the generosity of 15 donors, including a top donation of $1,000 from Bakhitori Jabor. However, additional support is needed to complete the arrangements and honor his final wishes.
The community has shown tremendous support for Qandil’s grieving family during this difficult time. As his loved ones face the challenge of bringing him home, they have called on friends and fellow community members to offer any assistance they can.
We are deeply saddened to hear of Qandil Quvvatov’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, and we hope his final wish will be fulfilled with dignity.
